Barnsley Road Race - Nat B
With some roadworks on the Hade Edge course, I was back for a smashfest on the Upper Denby course. The race was just shy of 90 miles and with the top 80 riders selected from 190 entries, it was stacked and not that far off being a prem level to be honest. It was also absolutely scorching, over 25 degrees and with no acclimatisation it was almost too hot for me. Thankfully Adam's Dad and Ed's mum were in support to hand out bottles which would be a lifesaver.

Tim James Memorial RR - Nat BIt was late Saturday night and I was in the pub having a nice bit of pizza with my girlfriend when I found out my teammate Issac had a training crash and broke his elbow on the eve of the Tim James memorial road race.
I'm not sure whether it was the 2 pints talking at this point but I decided to call the organiser and see if I could replace him. I could, so after 2 more pints we called it a day and went home to sleep. |
Crimson Performance RR - Nat B
This both my first road race for Crimson Performance and my first race since I won back in September 2019. I've been training well and my form is good. The previous week I had won and set a course record on a hilly TT so I must be doing something right. Without a proper road race it's tough to quite know how well I'm going, yes my numbers have been good but one can only push so hard in training.

Lancaster GP - Prem
For the first time since the insane Ryedale Grand Prix of 2019, the premier calendar road races were back! We were treated to 11 hilly nine mile laps on the outskirts of Lancaster.

Ryedale Grasscrete Grand Prix - Prem
Following on from last week's Lancaster Grand Prix, we were now at the formidable Ryedale Grand Prix. With nearly two years gap since the previous prem, I'd forgotten how hard they are and last week was tough.

Big Dogs Road Race
Now my last road race was back in 2019, I actually managed to win the sucker so have been on a 21 month unbeaten streak. The "return to racing for big dogs" is the Yorkshire test event and only 6 laps of the short Upper Denby course.

Beaumont Trophy - Prem
Genuinely don't think I've ever raced as well as I did today. My form was unreal. Leading up to this race my teammate Isaac Peatfield was 2nd overall in the national series and we were all in to get him the win. I was given the role of road captain and was to be Isaacs bodyguard.
